I have a get-it-done attitude, and I look for creative ways to achieve a solution that means fewer headaches for the client. My experience starts from the days when DOS was all we had. This knowledge means I know what is really behind the window versus those that only see the window itself; the façade. Many people know how to drag and drop a button onto a form in the studio, but can they write the code to make it work on the backend without a WYSIWYG interface? I usually can. I once challenged a .Net programmer to create code, and I would write classic ASP with C# (on the backend), and it was faster to code and just as efficient and scalable. Back in the dBase days, I wrote an Indexing routine that was faster than the one built-in to the software. These days I prefer to have SQL Server on the backend. Excel, Access VBA are no problem. The 3 J's: JavaScript, jQuery, JSON are also no problem. I prefer to do remote consultations since I travel all over the world.
