The thing that's gotten harder to find in this industry isn't talent, it's people who will sit with a hard problem long enough to actually ship a working version of it. That's what I do. The best part of my job is the moment someone says "this probably can't be done in that timeframe" and I already know it can. I've been writing software for a long time. Long enough to have made most of the interesting mistakes, and short enough to still find the work genuinely fun.
