Elaine T.

I'm an independent copy editor with a decade of professional experience. I've worked in newsrooms, grassroots movements, public affairs, government relations, e-learning, startups, nonprofits, and for plenty of individuals. I take accuracy seriously, and I genuinely take pride in giving critical work the critical attention it deserves. Whether you need serious structural guidance on a major project or just a second set of eyes to make sure your work is error-free, I can help! I'm returning to Upwork after finishing up some local work off-platform, so please excuse the older dates on my recent projects here. I'm a native Canadian English speaker, but can easily work with American or British English--or any other variant, as long as I have a style guide to follow. I'm also a speedy typist and a reliable transcriptionist, and would be happy to help with projects big or small. If you aren't sure if your job is the right fit for whatever reason, feel free to reach out and ask! **I do NOT work on projects that are plagiarized or AI-generated, or projects intended for use in training AI software or language models. This is not negotiable.**
