I’m a watercolor and scientific illustrator with an academic background in Marine Biology and more than a decade of professional experience in editorial content, visual storytelling, photography, and publishing. My illustration work is inspired by nature, particularly marine life, animals, and plants. I create detailed watercolor and digital illustrations for books, educational materials, editorial projects, packaging, and other printed products. I have worked on projects involving marine mammals, fish, endangered and invasive species, botanical subjects, food, and pet portraits. I also have hands-on experience with Amazon KDP publishing. I developed and published my own ocean-themed coloring and activity book, managing the complete process from concept development and species research to illustration, black-and-white line art, interior layout, cover design, and print-ready file preparation according to KDP specifications. This allows me to support clients not only with individual illustrations but also with complete, publication-ready book projects. Before focusing on illustration, I worked professionally as an editor from 2012 onward, including almost six years in the magazine industry across three publications with very different subject areas. I began as a decoration editor, producing DIY craft projects, styling photo shoots, and writing about interior design and decoration trends. I later joined GEO Turkey, where I worked on articles covering science, geography, history, nature, and world cultures. Photographing many of my own stories also allowed me to develop my skills in nature and documentary photography. At Istanbul Life magazine, I organized cover shoots, conducted interviews, covered new restaurants and cultural venues, and wrote alternative stories about urban life in Istanbul. This experience strengthened my project coordination, research, interviewing, writing, and visual communication skills. Today, I combine my scientific education, editorial background, and artistic practice to create visually engaging and well-researched work. I am especially interested in projects involving nature, wildlife, marine life, science, education, publishing, children’s content, and environmental communication.
