Thomas K.

I am a highly experienced professional screenwriter, film producer, script editor, script doctor and script consultant with over 15 years’ experience in the UK film and TV industry. I’ve written big budget scripts with the likes of Sky Original Films and the BBC, and have developed TV shows and films with UK production companies including Moonriver TV, Watford & Essex, Banijay, Happy Prince, World Productions, 108 Media, Good Gate Media, and Spier Films. Between them, they have made some of the UK's most loved television and films including Rivals, Line of Duty, Life on Mars, The Good Karma Hospital, Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, and Escape From Pretoria. I have a passion for true stories and specialise in adapting life stories and memoirs into feature film and TV scripts, whether it be an epic war film (like the one I wrote with Sky) or a small, personal biopic. I also run my own production company, and my debut feature film, which I wrote and produced, world premiered in competition at the Austin Film Festival and was released on Amazon Prime. I am the in-house screenwriter, scriptwriter, TV writer and Development Producer. Once the script is finished my job is to prepare it for the market by attaching co-producers, directors, casting directors and talent, and then pitching to the likes of Amazon, Netflix, Apple, Lionsgate, Paramount, BBC, Film4 and Sky, among others. I can: - Adapt your Memoir or life story into a feature film or TV pilot. - Write a first draft of any genre, with specialisms in crime thrillers, true stories, sci-fi, and elevated horror. - Rewrite or edit your existing script. Whether it be a full rewrite or a polish, I know first-hand the level required to stand out with Oscar-winning producers. - Put together your pitch deck or look book. Again, I know what works and what doesn’t. - Provide feedback and consultancy services on your first draft, finished script and/or pitch deck. My job is to help make your script the best it can be and sing in the current marketplace. I provide full creative feedback, and can also help with how to position it in the market to give it the best chance of attracting top talent, and being sold and made. I am relatively new to Upwork, but here’s a selection of reviews of my work (from other sites): “Tom did an outstanding job. He understood every issue and nuance deeply, offering precise and thoughtful solutions with remarkable professionalism. His work was fast, punctual, and of the highest quality. He also showed great patience throughout the process. I highly recommend working with him, a truly reliable and talented professional.” “Tom listened carefully and produced exactly what I needed and then some. The final product far exceeds my expectations from this process. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Tom's work to other interested parties.” “Tom has been absolutely incredible to work with and his expertise in storytelling, scriptwriting and filmmaking is outstanding! What impressed me the most was his genuine interest and passion for my film project - it really felt like he went the extra mile trying to give me the best input possible. I will definitely work with Tom again and can't recommend his service enough!” Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about my services. Stories are not just my job, they are my passion, and I look forward to helping you bring yours to life!
