Juan Esteban R.
3D Industrial Designer | Toys & Kids Products | Home Decor | CAD
I design consumer products where the details matter, children's products, wooden goods, and home decor pieces. Accessories that need a clear identity, great material selection, and a form that actually gets manufactured the way it was drawn. I have 6+ years on Upwork and 130+ completed projects, and I currently lead design for a couple of brands in the home decor and children's space. I'm most useful when a product still needs to be figured out: what it should look and feel like, what materials make sense once you account for real manufacturing. I add the most value while the product is still an idea and you want someone to turn it into a product that's actually ready for production, and I'm also happy to refine existing CAD or prepare files for manufacturing. Typical scopes include: Industrial design and product design, concept to manufacturing-ready files Concept development and design direction Wooden product design — joinery, mechanisms, finishing Children's product design — full knowledge of kids' safety standards, BPA-free and food-grade material selection, ergonomics for small hands CMF: color, material, and finish development CAD development in Shapr3D Photorealistic rendering and visualization in Blender Prototype development and design refinement DFM and manufacturing handoff, including coordination with manufacturing contacts for production My design work is backed by real production experience, not just renders. I understand how a part gets made — draft angles, wall thickness, demoulding, assembly — and I use that to push a concept as far as it can go while making sure it can still be built and shipped. I can work directly with founders from a rough idea, or slot into an existing brand's product line the way I do with Holme and Hadfield and Playmobi (current clients). Everything I design is exclusive to that client, and I'm always open to signing an NDA. Best-fit projects are children's products, wooden and home goods, EDC and personal accessories, and other physical products where craftsmanship, safety, and identity meaningfully shape the final result. When reaching out, it helps to include: What the product is and who it's for Its current stage (idea, sketches, existing CAD, or a working prototype) Any manufacturing constraints or requirements you already know What you're hoping the finished design will do for the brand I'll take a look and tell you honestly what the right next step looks like. Best, Juanes
