Or an MVP that has to be built right the first time because there won't be budget to rebuild it. Or a production issue nobody has been able to trace. That's the work I do best, and because I work on both sides of the stack, I can follow a problem wherever it actually lives instead of handing it off at the API boundary. What clients bring me in for: - Building from zero. MVPs and new products where the early architecture decisions determine whether you can still move quickly in a year. I've built these for healthtech, e-commerce, and SaaS clients, and I'd rather ask hard questions in week one than rewrite in month six. - Scaling what already exists. Systems that worked at 100 users and are straining at 10,000 — slow queries, background job pipelines, search infrastructure, caching layers. This is usually diagnosis before it's code. - Fixing what nobody else could trace. Production incidents, silent failures, bugs that only reproduce under real traffic. I'm comfortable working through unfamiliar codebases under time pressure. - Integrations that have to be reliable. Payments, Shopify, third-party APIs, and LLM-powered features running in production — where a failure is a support ticket, not a warning in the console. - Filling a technical gap on the team. I've held tech lead responsibilities, so I can own decisions, review others' work, and translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical founders.
