I turn complex, dry or intimidating subjects into writing people actually want to read. I’ve ghostwritten several books for young readers on finance and automotive history. On each one I handled the whole process, from research through outline, draft and final edit, and wrote in the client’s voice, not mine. On screen, I led scriptwriting for 25+ educational videos on Study Hall, the YouTube channel from John and Hank Green. I took technical and historical source material and made it accurate and engaging for audiences of hundreds of thousands. I also wrote a 30-episode series on Early American History, and wrote for After Math, a comedy show that made math concepts approachable through humor. My screenwriting has been recognized as a finalist in the Austin Film Festival’s pitch competition and a quarterfinalist in the Big Break Screenwriting Contest. My background also covers law, civics and policy. I spent over two years as a researcher and writer on Ballotpedia’s elections team, where I testified before state legislative committees. I’ve also clerked at a civil rights law firm and studied at UT Austin School of Law. I hold a B.A. in History and Politics & International Affairs from Furman University. And for fun, I’ve written for several sports blogs and a sports card blog.
