YouTube Retention Scriptwriter | Zero Drop-Offs | 100+ Reviews
Most YouTube channels don't die from bad ideas. They die from bad scripts. You've probably seen it yourself — a video with a great concept that bleeds viewers in the first 90 seconds and never recovers. The topic was good. The thumbnail worked. But somewhere between the hook and the halfway mark, the audience made a decision. They left. That's not an audience problem. That's a retention problem. And retention starts — and ends — with the script. I don't write scripts. I build viewing experiences engineered from the first word to the last to do one thing: keep people watching. Every line earns its place. Every transition buys more time. Every open loop is a reason your viewer can't click away — because doing so would mean missing something they were promised, and the brain doesn't let that go easily. That's not creativity. That's architecture. And it's the difference between a channel that grows and one that plateaus. Here's what most scriptwriters get wrong: They write for the reader. I write for the viewer — someone with a thumb ready to scroll, an algorithm ready to bury your video, and an attention span that has to be earned in real time, not assumed. I understand where audiences drop off. I know which structural decisions spike rewatch rates and which ones bleed watch time quietly, invisibly, until your average view duration tanks and the algorithm stops pushing your content entirely. I build every script backwards from those numbers. What you actually get: A hook that doesn't introduce — it traps. The first five seconds are a contract with your viewer. I write them to open an information gap so compelling that closing it requires watching the whole video. Open loop architecture that makes leaving feel like a loss. At any point in a video I script, your viewer has two or three unresolved questions pulling them forward. Closing one loop while opening the next is a discipline. I've spent years sharpening it. Pacing that sounds like a human, not a document. Retention lives in rhythm. Short lines. Controlled tension. Intentional breath. Scripts written the way the ear actually listens. A payoff worth staying for. A viewer who reaches the end of your video is a viewer who likes, comments, and subscribes. I close every script proportional to the promise made at the open. Niches I work in: Sports. Formula 1. True crime. History. Business and entrepreneurship. Finance. Motivation. Tech. Documentary style. If your channel tells stories — I can script it. Why watch time is the only number that matters: Subscribers are vanity. Views are context. Watch time is everything. YouTube has one job — keep people on the platform. It rewards the channels that help it do that. A video with 60% average view duration will consistently outperform a video with 25% average view duration — in search, in recommendations, and in long term channel growth. Every script I write is optimised for that curve. Your retention graph is my report card. Let's talk about your channel. Tell me your niche, your current average view duration if you have it, and what your next video needs to do. I'll tell you exactly how I'd build it. Felix
