Kendall T.
Industrial Designer | Award-Winning Consumer Products & Hardware
I design consumer products and hardware where industrial design is central to the outcome — products that need a clear identity, strong form, thoughtful details, and real manufacturing resolution. I have 12+ years of experience in industrial design and physical product development. My experience includes work for Meta/Oculus, Tesla, Honeywell, Moen, and Cuisinart, and my work has received multiple international design awards, including Red Dot: Best of the Best. I’m most useful when important design decisions are still open: what the product should look and feel like, how its architecture should support the experience, what makes it recognizable, and how the design should evolve as real technical and manufacturing constraints emerge. My role is industrial design first. I’m a strong fit when the product itself still needs design judgment and development — not when the design is already settled and the remaining work is primarily drafting, reverse engineering, CAD cleanup, or production drawings. Typical scopes include: • Industrial design and product design • Concept development and design direction • Product architecture and enclosure layout • Form, proportion, detail, and design language • CMF: color, material, and finish development • Ergonomics and physical user experience • Consumer electronics and connected hardware • CAD development and visualization in support of industrial design • Prototype development and design refinement • DFM and manufacturing handoff My industrial-design practice is backed by deep product-development experience. I understand component packaging, assembly, materials, manufacturing processes, prototyping, and the downstream consequences of early design decisions. That technical depth supports the design rather than replacing it. It allows ambitious design directions to be developed around real constraints and ultimately resolved into products that can actually be manufactured. I can work directly with founders or within an existing engineering or product-development team, and I can take ownership of the industrial-design process from early direction through final refinement and production handoff. The strongest collaborations establish clear goals, constraints, and decision points, then give me room to develop and resolve the design between reviews. I prefer focused iteration around strong directions rather than generating variations for their own sake. Most substantial industrial-design engagements are structured as fixed-price milestones based on scope and deliverables. Focused concept, feasibility, design-review, or early direction phases can also be scoped separately when they are the right first step. Best-fit projects are consumer products, electronics, connected hardware, appliances, personal products, mobility, outdoor products, and other physical products where appearance, usability, detail, and product identity meaningfully affect the final product. When reaching out, please include: • What the product is • Its current stage • Any existing sketches, CAD, prototypes, or technical requirements • The key constraints already known • Your approximate development budget I’ll review the project and recommend the most useful next step.
