I run IT infrastructure and I automate it. Microsoft 365, Windows Server and multi-site networks for organisations that cannot afford them to go down, plus the management information systems that report on them. Mostly Python now, C# and ASP.NET before that. Day to day I administer Microsoft 365 for 70 users - licensing, email, SharePoint and OneDrive - across a core office and three regional offices, on a Windows Server domain I designed on a Dell PowerEdge R7415 and took from 65% to 99% uptime. MikroTik and Ubiquiti/UniFi networking, backup and disaster recovery, and the IT policy that governs it. Recent work: the monitoring dashboard for a $133.7M rural development programme, tracking delivery across ten districts and around 90,000 households, alongside an HR system and the programme's public site. I designed and built these as IT Manager at the Economic Transformation Initiative, a joint programme of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, IFAD and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. Separately I run an automated trading system on a Windows Server box: three MetaTrader 5 terminals across two brokers, 24/5, with Expert Advisors placing trades, Python services handling signals and reconciliation, and a tick database for backtesting. Most of the work there is the unglamorous kind: terminals reconnecting to the wrong endpoint, scheduled jobs reporting success while failing, broker time not matching server time.
