My name is Miguel Crespo, I was born and live in Venezuela. Im drawing ever since I can remember, animated films were always an extraordinary influence for me, I constantly imitated the styles of illustration that I found around me, from comics, animated series to video games. I spent all my academic life drawing in my notebooks in the middle of classes, although I was always an average student. To advance in my technique I decided to take courses in Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects and Flash to get into digital drawing and animation. Later, I found PenToolSai through the illustrators I followed in diferent medias and adopted it as my main app for work. For a period I joined the producer company of Zootropo Productions who were in the process of animating the film "Kaporito the guardian of the mountain", there I was an intern, cleaning in Photoshop the scanned images so that the illustrators could paint the backgrounds of the scenes. Due to the influence of all the English media that surrounded me, from comics to video games, I began to study it on my own and by the time I finished high school I already understood spoken and written English without problems. I graduated from high school in 2012. After graduating from high school, I got in the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in the film career; I was accepted into the faculty of humanities of the UCV in the art school through internal test in 2012. I studied 3 years before I retired when I found the Digital Design Center (CDD) where in fact they taught a 3 year 2D Animation and Illustration career. I signed up and I was accepted. In 2018 I graduated as an illustrator and animator, I spent the next year searching for jobs and learning 3D; in 2019 Babbelonia, a company from the Netherlands hired me as their graphic designer, I worked with them until 2022. I took a year off to focus on my 3D skills and now I am working on my first short film that integrates both 2D and 3D elements. Currently I'm working full time as lead 3D animator.
