Content has to be right before it can rank. I've spent six years making sure it is, as an editor at Flywheel Publishing: on the founding team at A-Z Animals, and then as Senior Editor at History-Computer, where I ran a team of editors and writers. When Google's 2024 update knocked our sites back, my content audits at A-Z Animals helped return them to the first page. Before editing, I worked for over 20 years in accounting, mostly in municipal finance. I built the Excel workbook Mossel Bay Municipality used to reconcile its asset register to the ledger each month, and I once cleared a year of overdue bank reconciliations in three months. So I also take on Excel work, and I usually spot it when the numbers in a piece of writing don't add up. If you'd like to see how I work first, I'm happy to do a short sample edit or a small spreadsheet fix.
