Enterprise Web Strategist | Governance, Accessibility & AI

I run web strategy for a flagship public research university, where I lead the team responsible for the institutional site, admissions web portfolio, a homegrown design system, and the content governance that holds it all together across a large, decentralized organization. Before that, I spent years building the function from the ground up. I've also done CMS and content architecture work for national brands outside higher ed. What I'm good at is the layer most web projects skip: the strategic connective tissue between what leadership wants the site to do and what it actually does. That means content modeling and IA that scale across dozens of stakeholders, accessibility programs that go beyond checkbox compliance, analytics frameworks tied to real business outcomes, and governance structures that keep everything from drifting once the consultants leave. AI is where I'm spending a growing share of my attention, and it's where most organizations need the most help right now. I've built AI governance frameworks, developed institutional usage guidelines, and led campus-wide education initiatives on responsible adoption. But governance without enablement is just a policy document nobody reads. I focus on operationalizing AI within web and communications workflows: identifying where it creates real value, where it introduces risk, and building the guardrails and training that let teams move faster without exposing the brand. If your organization is trying to figure out where AI fits into your web operations, content production, or communications strategy, and you want someone who's already navigated the political and practical complexity of doing that inside a large institution, that's a conversation I want to have. I work best with organizations dealing with the specific kind of complexity that comes from decentralized content ownership, competing internal priorities, and websites that have grown organically past the point of coherence. Higher ed, healthcare, large nonprofits, and multi-brand enterprises are my sweet spot. If you need landing pages optimized for conversion, an accessibility audit with a remediation roadmap, a GA4 and tagging strategy that actually answers your questions, or someone to come in and make sense of a web ecosystem that's gotten away from you, I can help. I'm a senior strategist, not a pair of hands. I'll tell you what's wrong, why it matters, and what to do about it. If that's what you need, let's talk.
