Since 2010, I have been working in a combined role; wearing the hats of Executive Consultant, Agile Project / Program manager, and Scrum Master. During the past decade in this combined role, I have managed over 30 different project teams of engineers (Cloud, Product Specialists, Architects, etc) and software developers (Frontend / Backend / Full Stack Developers, QA testers, Data Scientists, etc) working with a wide array of technology, tools, and development languages (Java, .Net, Python, Javascript, DevOPS Toolchains, mobile apps, etc). One of my primary functions is to teach agile practices to stakeholders and technical teams. A big part of this work is translating requirements into actionable and realistic user stories / features / architectures while also establishing proper acceptance criteria, test case definition, and accountability. I have worked with many different agile tools during this time to accomplish this and run efficiently organized projects (including Rally, Pivotal Tracker, Trello, Jira, Azure DevOPS, as well as others). Many of the projects I have run in parallel, leveraging global teams (working remotely), while I worked on site as the product owner / liaison (executive consultant) between the technical teams and stakeholders. My work is very hands-on with the technical role players in these projects. I curate online working sessions almost daily to help the team work through issues / blockers (technical and interpersonal) via platforms such as Webex, Teams, and Zoom. I run all the standup meetings and sprint demonstrations personally. I manage schedule, scope and budget and provide reporting in multiple formats. I do some of my own analytics development on market leading BI platforms such as Splunk, Power BI, and Tableau. I take responsibility for many of the written deliverables on projects. I fill gaps and work to ensure that every scenario is a win-win, if possible.
