Cindy M.

Hi, I’m Cindy — a native Dutch writer and language professional with near-native proficiency in Italian and strong professional English skills. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Italian Language and Culture and have extensive experience in translation (EN–NL, IT–NL), localisation, and content optimisation. I work as a UI and marketing linguist, specialising in reviewing and refining Dutch (Netherlands) content, including post-editing and improving machine-translated materials. I’m highly experienced in MT quality evaluation, identifying recurring issues such as tone mismatches, terminology inconsistencies, and structural errors, and ensuring alignment with project and quality guidelines. Attention to detail and clear, actionable feedback are central to my work. Alongside translation and review work, I write and edit SEO-optimised content across various industries, including finance, AI, telecom, food, and mental health. I’m proficient with WordPress, SurferSEO, and other SEO tools, and I focus strongly on natural language, clarity, and audience engagement. Before starting my freelance career, I gained many years of experience as an administrative and financial assistant. This background strengthened my analytical skills, accuracy, and reliability, which continue to play an important role in my quality-focused approach today. I also ran my own international company for 25 years, gaining strong organisational and project management skills.
