Hardware and Firmware Development for Microcontroller-based Devices
Hello! I'm Adam, an embedded programmer and hardware designer with over 15 years of experience. Before I became a full-time entrepreneur, I worked as a test development engineer for 11 years, designing and building automated test equipment for a variety of PCBA-level electronic products. During that time, I gained extensive experience in hardware design, electronics testing and measurement, automation, and both firmware and software development. In my entrepreneurial career, I primarily focus on firmware development, while also taking on hardware design projects occasionally. I have basic knowledge of RF design concepts, including impedance matching and Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements. I also have experience with basic 3D design and own a 3D printer for prototyping needs. My main expertise lies in working with Microchip MCUs, but I’m also experienced with TI, STM, and ESP platforms, in C programming language. Example projects: - [HW, FW, SW] Welding Machine Motion Controller – A PIC32-based controller designed for industrial environments, featuring a custom EEPROM file system and a proprietary bytecode interpreter (virtual machine). I also developed a compiler in Python specifically for its virtual machine. - [HW, FW, 3D] Wireless Weight Scale - PIC18-based device with RF module, multiple units with one wireless display - [FW, SW] Battery Management System CAN Host Controller - PIC18 firmware development for network of up to 16 BMS units with own configuration software for Windows - [HW, FW] TI CC1xxx-based devices for measuring various values, with SD card data logging and RF communication between two slave units and one master unit - [FW] ESP32 based Eink display unit with CAN/TWAI interface - [FW] TI TivaWare-based datalogger with GSM connectivity optimized for battery operation - [HW, FW] STM32-based Node Modules – Robust, high-speed RS485-linked modules designed for precise rotation and vibration measurements across up to 32 nodes, with a 200 Hz sampling rate
