Lizzie W.
Health Tech & Life Sciences Writer | SEO/GEO/AEO
At a glance: - Science-informed content strategist: B.S. Biology, MPH UC Berkeley, published in Journal of Virology - 6+ years writing for regulated industries: Medical devices, telehealth, pharma, biotech, & supplements - Interview-driven content methodology: Delivering client interviews that translate to blog posts, web copy, email, and social - Specialized in modern SEO, optimizing for GEO & AEO _________________ My life story: I thought I’d be working in a biotech or immunology lab right now. I received my B.S. in Biology in 2020, working along the way in research positions in neurobiology (University of Oregon) and immunology (Emory University). I was published alongside my colleagues in the Journal of Virology and earned an award for undergraduate STEM research. I went on to earn my MPH in Health Policy and Management (Go Cal Bears!), but I started grad school during the pandemic, and needed to earn a living in school while the world was shut down. I took the leap into copywriting while I finished my degree (I always loved writing, but was told there's no money in it), and by the time I graduated, I’d built myself the career I didn’t know I could have. _________________ What I deliver: Research-backed content for regulated industries: Biotech, pharma, medical devices, telehealth, supplements, and climate tech. I bring genuine scientific literacy (B.S. Biology, MPH, published researcher), so you don't have to explain the basics. Interview-driven content: A single video interview with a customer, employee, or expert fuels blog posts, quote pulls, email content, and web copy simultaneously. At Maestro Music, this approach drove a 300% traffic increase. GEO-optimized content: As AI overviews dominate search, I focus on original insights, human voices, answer-led content, and E-E-A-T signals. _________________ A few companies I’ve worked with: -Marketing Agency (Tell Me More) -Telehealth (BetterHelp, Regain) -Biotech (Opentrons) -Oncology/Pharma Data (McKesson: Ontada & Compile) -Climate Tech (Watershed, Mast Reforestation) -Medical Devices, Medical Foods, Supplements (SnoreRx, Visbiome, Metagenics) -EdTech (Maestro Music) _________________ Beyond work: When I'm not writing, I'm usually on a trail somewhere. Over the past six years, I've section-hiked the AT, walked the Camino del Norte, Tour du Mont Blanc, Walkers Haute Route, Alta Via 1, Oregon Coast Trail, and a handful of others. I mention all this because I think the same thing that makes someone finish 2,000-miles of trekking makes them good at long-form content work. Basically, I know how to put in the freaking work. _________________ Next steps: I work from home, which means I’m always craving the chance to connect with real people (no offense to my houseplants and dogs. I promise I enjoy your company). Feel free to reach out with questions or to set up a meeting. Thanks for reading, Lizzie W.
