I am a commercial lawyer. I draft and negotiate the agreements businesses run on, handle the corporate and transactional side of growth, and make sense of unfamiliar regulation when companies expand into new markets. In my current in-house role at a cross-border technology company, I draft and negotiate commercial agreements from the ground up, including partnership, customer, reseller and service contracts, and prepare mutual NDAs with large corporate counterparties. I lead the corporate side of establishing entities in new jurisdictions and research the regulatory regimes that govern them, working from primary legislation and official sources rather than secondary summaries. I also work as a transactional legal associate reviewing and marking up NDAs on M&A deals through an international legal network, and I draft business sale and purchase agreements for owners structuring the sale of their companies. Before moving in-house, I managed more than fifteen concurrent legal matters under a UK-qualified barrister, spanning UK healthcare and immigration frameworks (CQC, MHRA, UKVI), corporate structuring and property law. I have provided legal research as amicus curiae to the Lahore High Court on refugee and international law, drafted commercial contracts in private practice, and carried out policy and regulatory research for UN Women and the US Department of State.
