Jocelyn C.
Furniture Development Engineer | CNC | CAD | Manufacturing
I help furniture brands, manufacturers, and designers turn concepts, sketches, and existing products into production-ready furniture. I’m a Mechatronics Engineer with 6+ years of CAD experience and 5+ years in furniture product development, specializing in upholstered furniture such as sofas, armchairs, beds, headboards, and tables. My work goes beyond 3D modeling. I develop products with manufacturability, comfort, cost, materials, and production processes in mind, from the initial concept through prototypes and manufacturing documentation. I can support furniture development with 3D CAD and reverse engineering, wooden frame construction, CNC-ready geometry and toolpaths, foam development and comfort analysis, upholstery and sewing patterns, technical drawings, BOMs, assembly instructions, and DFMA. I work primarily with SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and AccuMark, and I’m comfortable collaborating directly with designers, suppliers, sample makers, engineering teams, and manufacturing plants. My experience includes premium residential and contract furniture for international clients. I’ve also worked on product redesign and process-improvement projects that helped reduce prototyping cycles from months to weeks and significantly reduce material usage in furniture frames. What I bring to a project is not only CAD expertise, but a strong understanding of how furniture is actually built. I focus on clear documentation, practical solutions, efficient communication, and designs that can successfully move from screen to production. If you need a furniture engineer who can take your idea from concept to manufacturing-ready documentation, I’d be happy to discuss your project.
