Vance T.
Screenwriter / Video Editor
WRITER / SCREENWRITER Vance Tucker is an award-winning Screenwriter and Features Contributor for The Onion. He has written for Bleacher Report’s animated series Gridiron Heights, The Portal, and their new NBA anime series Hero Ball. Vance attended the School of Visual Arts in New York and studied Improv and Sketch Writing at UCB and has written sketches, shorts, features, and pilots. He specializes in dialogue and enjoys the challenge of taking absurd scenarios and grounding them in reality to create compelling, meaningful stories. His feature screenplay, 'Help! I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com' won the Bronze Medal in comedy from the Page Awards, and his pilot 'The Border' was a Quarterfinalist in the 2020 Final Draft Big Break Competition. 'The Toothbrush', a short comedy/horror film Vance wrote and co-directed, was acquired by Ruthless Pictures as part of their Anthology Feature, Strange Events. Vance also hosts the Boys Watching Buffy podcast, where he and his co-host watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer for the first time ever and review each episode. EDITOR / ASSISTANT EDITOR Vance Tucker has worked as an Assistant Editor for House Hunter's International and as a Lead Editor for Vice Magazine’s VBS TV where he edited the short documentary Oil of L.A. which was featured on The Huffington Post. Additionally, Vance has worked as a Freelance Assistant Editor at Lost Planet, Exile, Final Cut, and many others... but he is best known for his biting wit, comedic timing, and a third thing I can't remember at the moment. He is experienced in Avid and Adobe Premiere as well as Photoshop, After Effects, and Davinci Resolve.
