Avionics and Multi Sensor Integration
I am an embedded systems engineer with considerable background in radar development, and real-time sensor integration. My work sits at the intersection of physics, RF engineering, and software. Having Expertise in these areas: Radar Development: Successfully developed an FMCW mmWave radar from the ground up using Texas Instruments' IWR1642, owning both the RF front-end configuration and the full software stack. This radar is now being deployed for Drone Obstacle Avoidance โ giving me practical experience with real-world target detection, Doppler processing, and range estimation. SDR & Spectrum Analysis: Developed a custom spectrum analyser using Software-Defined Radio (SDR) from 3rd party vendors, taking raw I/Q data and turning it into usable spectral information. Multi-Sensor Integration: Integrated RF drone detection/jammers, EO/IR cameras, and acoustic sensors from multiple vendors into a unified software platform. This required synchronizing disparate data streams, handling timing, and building a cohesive picture from heterogeneous sensors โ foundational skills for sensor fusion. Sensor Fusion (Growing Expertise): While my primary depth is in individual sensing modalities, I have practical fusion experience while i am working on Ardupilot and PX4. Real-Time DSP & Embedded Systems: Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python for real-time DSP implementation. My work with Ardupilot and PX4 on defense and agriculture drone GCS (Ground Control Stations) has given me deep experience in embedded software, state estimation, and real-time decision-making in noisy environments. Field Testing & Prototyping: I've taken systems from simulation to prototype to field deployment โ including drone-based RF detection and radar systems โ so I understand the gap between theory and what actually works outside the lab. I get excited about turning raw RF into actionable tracks. I have the maths/physics foundation (DSP, Fourier methods, detection theory), the hands-on hardware experience (SDRs, radars, antennas), and the software engineering discipline to turn algorithms into working, field-ready systems.
