Heather M.

As a writer and editor, I create clear, concise content that communicates easily with readers. I specialize in admissions essays, SEO blogs, and bios, and I also have a strong background in web content, academic writing, non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. I have worked across a wide variety of sectors, from nonprofits and real estate to spirituality and skincare. I never use any AI tools. I served as the Head Editor for Modern Singer Magazine for four years, and I am comfortable editing both long- and short-form pieces of all genres. I can provide detailed proofreading and copy editing, as well as more extensive developmental editing that includes larger issues of content, structure, tone, and character. As a professional opera singer, I am an excellent resource for artists, musicians, and everyone in the creative sphere. I specialize in creating professional bios and honing artistic resumes, as well as helping creatives translate those skills to non-artistic jobs in cover letters and resumes. I never use any AI tools in my work. I also have a minor in History and am a very capable academic and non-fiction writer, with a specialty in the Chicago Manual of Style. I received a Mellon Scholar Grant to write my article, “ ‘And if any person would meddle of my cause:' Anne Boleyn, Music, and Sexism.”
