Kirk L.
Educator & Strategic Communicator | Proven Record in Fast Environments
I've always been drawn to organizing and advocacy -- whether that's mobilizing 300+ volunteers across 18 counties for a congressional campaign, collaborating with lawmakers on policy recommendations, or building systems that help teachers and students succeed. In each role I've held, I've focused on sharpening one skill above all: communication. How do you translate complex research into action? How do you mobilize people around a shared goal? How do you design systems that actually work in high-pressure, real-world environments? Now, as a 7th grade math teacher in Dallas ISD, I bring that same mindset to education. I look for ways to improve existing systems -- organizing teachers, students, and families toward better outcomes through technology, data-driven instruction, and advocacy. I've led professional development sessions that resulted in campus-wide adoption of new classroom management and instructional strategies. I've designed AI-assisted curriculum tools to create rigorous, standards-aligned materials at scale. And I've been named 2024 Middle School Teacher of the Year for measurable student growth and leadership. I'm detail-oriented, love writing, and thrive in fast-paced environments where clear communication and strategic thinking matter. As a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (3.90 GPA, Political Science with Honors) and Johns Hopkins University (4.0 GPA, M.S. in Education), I bring a research-backed approach to problem-solving -- but I'm always focused on what works in practice, not just in theory. At 25, I'm early in my career, but I've already built systems that work, led teams that deliver results, and proven I can adapt quickly to new challenges. Whether it's education, advocacy, or strategic communication, I'm always looking for opportunities to create meaningful impact. What I'm working on: - Developing AI-powered question banks for Texas math teachers - Facilitating professional development on Building Thinking Classrooms and data-driven instruction - Exploring opportunities in curriculum design, educational consulting, and remote work Let's connect if you're interested in: - Education innovation and teacher support - Campaign strategy and community organizing - Remote work opportunities that value communication, attention to detail, and systems thinking
