I work with clients to implement custom applications to meet specific content management and data collection needs using the tools, language, framework and deployment strategy most appropriate to the demands of a particular project. Specialties: RDBMS - schema design, optimization in a variety of SQL flavors, by hand as well as using a variety of ORMs. Digital Asset Metadata description in XML, XSLT, using both custom ontologies and existing frameworks including MARC, DublinCore, and PBCore; indexing and search using Apache SOLR/Lucene Python and Python web frameworks including Flask and Django Ruby and Ruby on Rails, PHP and Laravel, etc., Perl and Unix shell scripting Javascript, jQuery, node.js, and client frameworks, especially Vue, but also some Angular and React. Building and consuming REST APIs, (but I’d prefer to build and consume GraphQL) Unix/Linux web server administration and application deployment, AWS, EC2.
