With 25+ years of experience in accounting, including 12 years as a Controller/CFO, I help business owners clean up and catch up their books with accuracy and efficiency. I’m the founder of Profit to Portfolio (a DBA of A Count Ability, LLC), a bookkeeping and fractional-CFO practice specializing in real estate investors, wholesalers, flippers, and multi-entity portfolios, although I have clients from many different industries. For one company, I cleaned up years of books with over $100,000 in mismatched clearing account entries between multiple business accounts. For another client, I caught a commercial rent overpayment of more than $16,000 from the prior year while reviewing their financials, and they were able to recover the money. In another case, a routine review turned up an odd accounting entry that led to uncovering a fraudulent check and a fake invoice an internal bookkeeper had created for herself. Further review revealed she’d been stealing from the company for a year, with the amounts increasing over time, and I was able to help the company put a stop to it before it got worse. Beyond cleanup and catch-up work, I train accounting staff. Most of my career has involved supervisory roles, and I’ve developed successful bookkeepers and accountants across the teams I’ve led. I’ve also built tools to help clients stay financially healthy, not just compliant. I developed a cash flow forecasting tool I use with organizations to help them avoid going into the red, along with other budgeting and goal-tracking tools I use to hold clients accountable through regular check-ins on their progress. More recently, I’ve built AI-powered tools, including an automated journal entry system for real estate transactions and a patent-pending Quality of Earnings analysis tool, reflecting my ongoing focus on bringing efficiency and precision to financial operations.
