Seth A.
IT Strategy & Security Architect | CISSP | Cloud & AI Adoption
Hi, I'm Seth. I've spent over 22 years working in IT, beginning with eight years in the U.S. Army as a 25B Information Technology Specialist. Since then, I've worked with organizations ranging from small businesses to global enterprises, helping them modernize infrastructure, improve security, and navigate complex technology challenges. My background includes consulting engagements supporting organizations such as Bose, Fresenius Medical Care, HP, and large-scale mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through Protiviti. Over the years, I've worked across nearly every layer of IT infrastructure, from hands-on engineering and systems administration to enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and technology strategy. Today, my focus is helping organizations make better technology decisions and successfully execute them. I work with business owners, IT directors, and executive leadership to align technology investments with business objectives, reduce operational risk, and establish practical strategies for modernization. A growing part of that work involves helping organizations adopt artificial intelligence responsibly. Many businesses recognize AI's potential but aren't entirely sure where to start, which applications will provide meaningful value, or how to address the security and governance concerns that come with implementation. My approach is to understand how the business operates, identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve efficiency, and establish appropriate security controls, governance policies, and operational guardrails. The goal isn't simply to introduce new technology. It's to make sure that technology delivers measurable business value without creating unnecessary operational risk. My experience includes Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, identity management, cybersecurity, Power Platform, and process automation. I maintain an active CISSP certification and am a VMware Certified Professional in Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV). One thing that separates my approach from purely strategic consulting is that I've spent most of my career implementing the technologies I'm recommending. I understand what looks good on an architecture diagram versus what actually works in production. I'm comfortable discussing technology strategy with executive leadership, but I'm equally comfortable working alongside engineering teams, troubleshooting infrastructure, or writing PowerShell to get something across the finish line. My approach is straightforward: understand the business objectives, identify the risks, develop a practical plan, and execute it. If your organization needs someone who can bridge the gap between technology strategy and technical execution, I'd welcome a conversation. Thanks, Seth Alton Method Tech
