Based in Austin, TX - Available for remote work worldwide Hey, I’m Nate Zivin, an Austin, TX–based multimedia producer with over two decades in music, audio, and video production. I’ve spent most of my life obsessing over sound, music, storytelling, and the small emotional details that make creative work actually feel alive. I started as a musician long before I ever called myself an editor or producer. Playing professional jazz gigs and corporate events, performing in jazz ensembles, spending thousands of hours mixing records, promoting and booking my own music festivals, performing original music in front of hundreds of people, playing guitar alongside Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, and engineering live sound for acts like Plain White T’s, Quiet Riot, and Jimmie Vaughan all shaped the way I think about creativity, pacing, and emotion. Over time that naturally expanded into video production, composition, sound design, dialogue editing, and multimedia storytelling. Since then, I’ve worked across a wide range of creative projects — composing music for media including a McDonald’s commercial, working as a radio producer, editor, and on-air personality alongside legendary Austin radio host JB Hager, recording and mixing a 20-piece Indian flamenco orchestra for live television broadcast on KLRU-TV, filming and scoring an intro video that has played in front of hundreds of thousands of visitors at the spiritual retreat center Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, mixing records for independent artists, and creating story-driven content for brands, creators, and businesses. I’ve also edited over 580 minutes of Hebrew educational lessons with a heavy focus on pacing, clarity, instructability, and cross-language understanding for a program designed to serve thousands of students. A lot of my background sits at the intersection of music, visuals, and emotion. Whether I’m editing dialogue, composing music, cleaning up audio, or shaping visuals, I’m usually thinking about the same thing: Is this the highest quality this can possibly be? Does this feel human? Will this emotionally connect with people in a way that feels inspirational, professional, creative, and intriguing enough to hold their attention? Technically, I’m comfortable across the full production pipeline — audio engineering, editing, composition, sound cleanup, voiceover production, color work, and post-production workflows — but I try not to approach projects mechanically. The goal isn’t just to make something polished. The goal is to make something people actually connect with.
