AI & CAD Automation Engineer | AutoLISP, Python, C# | LLM Agents
I build automation software for engineering work. Custom AutoCAD and AutoLISP tools, Python applications, and AI-assisted systems for firms that produce drawings, calculations, and technical data at volume. I am a civil engineer by training and by practice, with a master's in software engineering on top of it. That combination is the part most CAD automation developers are missing. You will not spend your first three calls explaining eaves, tributary areas, or why a detail matters. I already know, so we start at the actual problem. WHAT I BUILD CAD automation and plugins AutoLISP, DCL, VBA and C#/.NET across AutoCAD, ZWCAD, GstarCAD, ProgeCAD and MicroStation. Drawing generation, batch processing, standards enforcement, layer and block automation, dynamic blocks, XData, reactors, layout and viewport handling, and point cloud workflows. Computational geometry for engineering Parametric roof, wall and elevation generation from 2D geometry across fifteen or more roof typologies including hip, gable, Dutch gable, gambrel, bonnet, dormer and intersecting conditions. Structural tributary areas using Voronoi regions with load, spring and deflection calculation. Room measurement, offsets, routing and area logic. Python and software engineering Application and tooling development in Python, including a compiler and runtime for a domain-specific language: parser, expression evaluation, type system, arrays and shapes, constraints, dependency-driven reevaluation, CLI packaging and a regression suite of more than two hundred tests. AI and LLM integration Agentic workflows, LLM integrations and custom MCP servers, pointed at the same engineering problems: drawing and document review, data extraction, assisted design checking, and automating the judgment-light parts of technical production. Data and Office automation CAD to Excel and Excel to CAD, BOM, cut list, takeoff, CNC-ready CSV, shop PDF, Word report generation, and payroll and reporting systems in VBA. HOW I WORK Iteratively, against your real production files rather than tidy samples. That is where the edge cases live and it is the only way a tool survives contact with a real drawing set. You get versioned releases, compiled deliverables where that makes sense, documentation, and a demonstration video when the interaction needs showing rather than describing. Several clients have kept me on for years across successive tools, which is the part of my record I am proudest of. Send me the drawing, the workbook or the repetitive process you are tired of doing by hand. I will tell you honestly whether it is worth automating, and what it would take.
