It speeds me up; the judgment about what should be built, and whether the output is actually correct, stays mine. I test my own work before QA sees it. I flag confusing UX and risky decisions instead of silently implementing the ticket as written. I show up to standups, give status before anyone asks, and finish what I commit to.
