Jeremy B.
Expert Copyeditor and English Language Specialist
My freelance editing work has entailed a wide variety of projects, including blog and website editing, SEO, college course books, university accreditation documents, research papers and dissertations, resumes, devotional books, and scripts for YouTube videos. I previously served as Chief Editor for a copywriting agency, where I oversaw the work of our writers and copyeditors to produce high-quality content for a range of clients. One of my specialties is academic editing, which is strengthened by my strong background in graduate-level academic writing. I have written papers in the fields of linguistics, language teaching, biblical studies, and intercultural communication. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Biola University in the United States, where I earned the distinction Highest Honors. Aside from my work as an editor, I have considerable expertise in language teaching, teacher training, and intercultural communication. My work in the U.S. includes several years of teaching academic English at the university level, as well as two years of teaching everyday English to immigrants in community ESL programs. I have also taught for several years in Indonesia, teaching undergraduate English classes at a university and teaching children, students, and professionals at a private English course. My time in Indonesia has allowed me to develop advanced fluency in Indonesian and a deep understanding of cross-cultural communication. A highlight of my work in Indonesia was being selected for the prestigious English Language Fellow Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. In this position, I taught as a guest lecturer in the English Department of Sam Ratulangi University in Manado, Indonesia, where I worked closely with my Indonesian colleagues on a variety of curriculum development, teaching, and teacher training projects. I was awarded this fellowship for three consecutive years.
