Curriculum Developer | Biology, Genomics | Research | Teacher
Biotech and EdTech organizations work with me when they need someone who understands the science AND can make it land for their audience. Most recently, I served as curriculum editor and developer for Illuminaβs Generation STEAM genomics education program: reviewing, restructuring, and enhancing 8 sessions and a Program Manual for scientific accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness. I bring 8 years of science teaching experience β currently at Philippine Science High School, one of Southeast Asiaβs most competitive science institutions, where I teach cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, anatomy and physiology, and research methodology to science-track students. I also mentor student-led research in environmental microbiology, genomics, and computational analysis. Prior to PSHS, I served as a Research and Science teacher and curriculum developer under the Department of Education (DepEd) from 2018-2022, developing and editing both teacher-facing instructional guides and student-facing learning materials across science subjects. My research background extends into bioinformatics through an internship at the Philippine Genome Center, where I analyzed transposable element activity under environmental stress conditions using RNA-seq data in a high-performance computing environment. I hold a BS Biology from the University of the Philippines and have completed 18 units of Professional Teacher Education at UP Open University. I work at the intersection of scientific rigor and instructional clarity, translating complex biological concepts into accessible, well-structured learning experiences. Open to curriculum development, curriculum editing, science writing, and research collaborations that bridge education and emerging biological research.
