Duncan C.

I am a native English speaking technical content writer from the UK. I write online content for businesses that work in specialist, technical fields. I focus on providing clear information about what they do and getting people interested in their brand. I always get fully involved in the projects I work on, and I take a very tailored approach with the companies I work for. Generally speaking, I write two types of content: 1. Content that helps businesses to explain what they do or which markets specific products or services. I can work with subject matter experts or to a brief to explain what your company has to offer. 2. Lead-generating online content that provides people with information or discusses something relevant to a company. This could be a blog post, LinkedIn article, a white paper, a video script or another type of content that gets people interested in your company. I also do less technical work. I’ve written scripts for YouTube documentaries, and I write DIY blog content as well, for example. Feel free to message me if you have a less technical content project to work on. I also have a good understanding of SEO. I'm experienced with WordPress, and I'm happy to work on projects involving page building and design. I cover lots of content formats. I spend most of my time writing articles, blog posts, website copy and video scripts, but I also have experience of white papers, product descriptions, business profiles, newsletters, emails, reports and more. The industries I'm most experienced in are supply chain management, finance, construction and the environment. However, I’ve covered many other subjects, and I’m happy to work on all kinds of subjects. Besides technical content writing, I also do some technical writing work (writing documentation and instructions). I also do proofreading and editing. .......................................................... Client Quote ‘Duncan was exceptional at translating complex financial concepts into easily digestible blogs for our brand. He created nearly 100 blogs for us and was reliable and consistent in creating high quality content. He worked hard to get our tone of voice correct and identified topics to write about. I would recommend Duncan for any project you have in mind.’ Marketing director, finance .......................................................... TECHNICAL WRITING This covers the more formal types of technical writing, such as product/software documentation, how to guides and reference documents. Click on the technical writing tab to the left to read more about this. To clear up any confusion, technical writers generally write supporting technical information that helps the user of a product or service use that product or service. Normally, this is instructions or documentation of some kind. On the other hand, technical content writers write content on technical subjects for more general readership. .......................................................... PROOFREADING/EDITING I can complete document/content editing to make sure your work is not only error free but also well written and factually correct. Please click on the proofreading tab to find out more about this. .......................................................... My Qualifications I’m a graduate of the University of Southampton (Geography BSc Hons), which often ranks as one of the top 10 or 15 universities in the UK. I also completed Eston Training’s Technical/Commercial Authorship Course and earned an Eston Training Diploma (with Distinction), with an average grade of 90%. This course is endorsed by the UK Institute for Scientific and Technical Communication.
