Mario R.
Solutions Engineer | Full-Stack Developer & Technical Sales Bridge
I'm a Solutions Engineer with 16+ years bridging technical delivery and client relationships. I build production software myself, backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, security, desktop applications, and I also carry a track record in business development, key account management, and B2B sales. Most people specialize in one side of that line. I've spent my career deliberately staying on both. WHAT I ACTUALLY BUILD I write backend code in Python, JavaScript, and Node.js, deploy on AWS (serverless Lambda architecture), and design systems end to end rather than handing off a spec and waiting. Recent work includes implementing JWT verification from scratch using native WebCrypto, building idempotent webhook processing on serverless Postgres, and integrating third-party APIs (Stripe, Zendesk, Jira, Brevo) into production systems. I've also built desktop applications in PyQt5, including one with on-device OCR and local AI tagging, and authored custom integrations for Astro-based web platforms. I founded and independently run ZillaSoft, a software venture where I own every layer: two production desktop apps live on the Microsoft Store, a 14-function serverless backend, a marketing site, and two marketplace app integrations (Atlassian Forge and Zendesk). Nobody handed me a technical spec for any of it. I wrote the specs. WHAT I ALSO BRING Before and alongside the technical work, I've led B2B sales operations, managed enterprise key accounts, negotiated commercial agreements, and driven revenue growth across multiple companies. I was recognized as "Best Leader" at Atlassian (2024) for combining sales results with hands-on technical delivery, and ranked #1 of 200+ agents company-wide at Citibank. I currently work as a Technical Business Analyst on PXM (Product Experience Management) implementations for platforms like Znode and Inriver, translating business requirements directly into system architecture and backend solutions. WHY THIS COMBINATION MATTERS Most technical consultants need a translator between them and a client's business goals. Most sales-focused consultants need an engineer to validate what's actually feasible. I don't need that translation layer. I can run a technical discovery call, scope the actual implementation, write the code, and manage the account relationship afterward, without three different people and the miscommunication that comes with it. WHAT I'M AVAILABLE FOR Solutions engineering and pre-sales technical consulting, backend and API development, system architecture and integration work, PXM/eCommerce platform implementation, and technical account management for SaaS or enterprise software clients. I'm comfortable working directly with technical teams, business stakeholders, or both at once. Fluent in English and Spanish, working German (B1). Based in Guatemala, available remotely, and currently exploring relocation to Europe for the right opportunity. If your project needs someone who can sit in the client meeting and then go build the thing discussed in it, that's exactly the gap I fill.
