Personal project: concept, voice-over, story edit and the production pipeline behind it. My own German documentary channel on business topics: 47 hours from the first sentence to the first episode, ad revenue after 30 days, 560,000+ views in the first eight weeks. Retention data shapes the story: in the first six episodes, openings with court details or an early answer to the title question held 48 to 51% at one minute, the others 61 to 68%. About 20 stages, six mandatory checks; I approve every script, voice every episode and sign off every cut. I bring the same work to clients. For the Underknown network I produce the German versions of What If and How to Survive, from script adaptation to the finished episode, and I review the editors' cuts before delivery. For about a year I ran the full production workflow of a business YouTube channel, and as interim Director of Quality Control I revamped the quality control process of a B2B video production company. When I run a channel, I work from CTR, retention in the first minute, traffic sources and packaging. On the ad side I work as a creative strategist for DTC brands on Meta. As editing lead for a supplement brand I led nine remote editors plus voice-over across time zones, set up a pay model with about 44% lower cost per asset and hired five new editors and voice-over artists in four weeks. For a US brand I built the complete document set for a creator footage pipeline in five days, with a tracker that shows the cost per usable clip. My angles start from what already wins: on a creative strategy job here, a breakdown of three winning ads showed a gap all of them left open, and that angle got the green light. German localization is the other half of my work. I've localized eight German YouTube channels for international creators, together 239,000 subscribers and 84 million views. Since 2018 that's more than 2,000 localized videos, from a single voice track for YouTube's multi-audio feature up to running the complete German channel. In games, I'm credited as a translator on Gears of War: E-Day for Lionbridge Games, and since September 2026 I'm also on-call Translation Unit Lead for German at Lionbridge. Most work starts with one video or a small project like a channel audit or a first set of angles, and it often grows into long-term work. My two biggest clients here both started with a small per-video job, and one of them has been with me since 2021. Tell me about your project and where you're stuck, and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help! If you speak German, feel free to write to me in German.
