As a Carbon Manager I have experience working on the development renewable energy projects including off-grid solar photovoltaic energy and the financial mechanisms required to obtain funds for these projects. I have worked on the technical issues regarding solar energy such as O&M costs, logistics and construction. Similarly, I have worked with diverse stakeholders such as multilateral banks, governments and research institutions. As part of my academic preparation in topics regarding climate change I have gained relevant knowledge in: carbon markets, corporate social sustainability, reporting methodologies and project development, climate finance and the CDM, Gold Standard, BREEAM standard, Life Cycle Analysis, LEED, and ISO 14064. Some achievements include: co-author of a policy recommendation report on how to catalyse funds and reduce investment risks in Kenya and Tanzania, co-authorship in a research paper that investigates the carbon uptake potential by enhanced soil due to indigenous agroforestry techniques in the Ecuadorian Amazon, and the development of technical reports about off-grid solar energy in Africa.
