If you’re responsible for a kidswear or babywear range, as a founder or small brand, you don’t have time (or budget) for expensive mistakes. Whether it shows up as unclear designs, ranges that don’t quite feel right for your customer, or uncertainty around how something should be developed for production, the pressure is the same: you need confidence in your decisions before you move forward. That’s where I help. I’m a specialist childrenswear & babywear designer and consultant with almost 20 years experience, supporting global brands, including Next, Primark and Mothercare. I work with founder led brands and established brand teams who need a more experienced eye, not just execution, to help them move forward with clarity. A common issue I see is work that technically 'ticks the boxes' but doesn’t truly land in the consumer market, or hold up in production. Designs may look complete, yet proportions feel off, colour or detailing misses the mark, or the range lacks cohesion and confidence. At the same time, tech packs often leave too much open to interpretation, missing key construction detail, fit intent or childrenswear specific safety considerations; which leads to delays, costly re-sampling and uncertainty further down the line. This is where experience matters. My role is often to sense check, refine and elevate ideas so they feel right for the intended customer before more time and money are committed. I bring a strategic, commercially grounded approach to childrenswear design, combining creative direction with a strong understanding of production, fit and safety standards specific to this category.
