Hello! I’m Kaila (she/her). As a trained editor and indie author, I understand how daunting the editing process can be. My goal is not only to have my clients feeling confident in putting their work out into the world, but feeling cared for during the editing process itself. So if you’re looking for an editor for your novel, poetry, or picture book, I’d love to be that person! For novels, I offer: - Copy editing (including line editing, unless otherwise requested) - Proofreading - Best fit: fantasy, sci-fi, and most romance (see below) - Not the right fit for: dark romance, horror, or religious fiction For poetry, I offer: - Developmental editing - Copy editing (including line editing, unless otherwise requested) - Proofreading - Collection organization, where I help determine what poems should be included and in what order For picture books, I offer: - Developmental editing (if a rhyming book, structure gets looked at here) - Copy editing (including line editing, unless otherwise requested) - Proofreading I’m a member of Editors Canada and hold a B.A. in English from the University of Ottawa.
