I am a QA automation engineer. I write automated tests, and I write the tools around them. Most of my work is end-to-end testing in Cypress, Playwright and Selenium, and API testing with Rest Assured, Postman and ReadyAPI. For systems built on events I also check the Kafka messages, not only the screen. Tests run in GitLab CI inside Docker, and reports go to Allure so the team can read a failure without asking me first. I came to QA from development. I worked as a software engineer, then for seven years as a system administrator supporting Windows, Windows Server and Linux. I have written real applications of my own: desktop tools in C++ and Qt, and a Django site that parses three car listing sites into one page. That is why test data generators, small scripts and SQL checks are normal work for me, not something extra. What this means for you: - I do not stop where the test framework ends. If the tests need data that does not exist, I write the generator. - I test below the interface. A screen can look correct while the data behind it is wrong. - I keep tests simple, so someone else can maintain them after me. - I write everything down. Clear steps, clear reports, so a developer can act without a meeting.
