Gowtham R.
Web developer | DevOps | Business Analyst
During my career at Infosys, I developed a strong affinity for programming and information technology. I completed my training (on Java, DBMS, Python, Data Structures and IT Processes) in Infosys. Post-training, I got allocated in several testing projects where I got engaged in automation testing of web applications using Selenium and Java. I worked on UFT based frameworks (another testing tool) and gained experience in Retail and eCommerce domains during my 4 years of employment with Infosys. Then I moved to Sudbury, Canada to study Business Analytics in Cambrian College. Prior to joining the college, I completed a crash course on Data Science in which I learned R - a programming language for statistics and visualizations. I volunteered in the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo 2019 held in West Nipissing, Ontario where I got the opportunity to work on an Arduino project to analyze the trend of moisture content in soil and to do a graphical representation in real-time. I worked as an Applied Research staff at Cambrian to work on an Arduino project to analyse the risk factors of semi-autonomous vehicles in mining industries and created a dashboard that collects data (from sensors) in real-time and displays them in different visualizations using Power BI. I participated as a team for a Hackathon conducted by Hard-Line and as a team, we worked on a machine vision solution that detects and tracks robotic arms using PyTorch. Participated in an Innovation challenge conducted by Cambrian College and bagged the first prize by pitching an idea to assist visually impaired people with a smart vision camera that detects texts, road signs, (and) recognizing people and that will be relayed to the mobile app installed in their mobile phones and connected to Bluetooth or headset through mobile phone, it informs the person in real time. After my post-graduation (dipl.) in Business Analytics, I got an opportunity to work as DevOps engineer. I learned a great deal about web server configurations, linux, CI/CD pipelines (Atlassian tools), automation, Django framework, Cloud hosting and basics of security while working in DevOps. Then I moved to Development to work in Frontend. The technologies I am working on are AngularJs, Django (Python). Eager to do more.
