My name is Natalie. I'm a young professional, graduated as an occupational therapist (bachelor’s degree) in July of 2015. I am a very active listener, highly organized and pay great attention to detail. I consider myself as a critical thinker and value feedback on my work in order to improve my skills. I am not afraid to step in an unknown zone, in fact I very much like to learn new things and expand my horizon. I am a dedicated and fast learner. I adapt easily to new responsibilities and I am reliable in meeting deadlines. I like to work individually, as well as in a team. I am to the point, concrete, if it comes down to giving my opinion. As an occupational therapist I know how to work with the strengths and possibilities of a person so that they become more independent in doing a certain activity of daily life. I'm skilled to observe and to be creative in the use of an individual approach to get bigger success in the development process of my clients. Listening to the specific needs, positive stimulation and challenge play a big role in interventions. Important skills I have shown I possess and that I can easily generate in other work areas. I speak several languages, such as: Dutch (native), English (advanced), Latin American Spanish (advanced), French (intermediate) and German (intermediate). My native language is Flemish (Dutch - Belgium). Flemish is known for its many dialects, and considered difficult to comprehend. I am fluent in any Dutch dialect. I also perfectly understand Dutch from the Netherlands as I lived and worked in Amsterdam for about three years. I work fluently with Windows, Office, Google applications. I create and edit designs for social media in Canva to promote my dance classes and boat tours. I’ve taught myself how to work with Wordpress and have basic SEO knowledge. I’ve made two websites already, one with Wordpress and the other with Squarespace. I am often on the lookout for new applications to edit photos and videos to improve my digital marketing skills. I’ve lived in three different countries so far (Belgium, The Netherlands, Colombia). I think it’s very interesting to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to develop my personal growth and to gain work experience abroad. In The Netherlands I’ve had different jobs in the health sector, mainly as a coach of people with disabilities (elderly and adults with brain disorders) and as an occupational therapist in a rehabilitation center / nursing home. In Colombia I have been working in the tourism sector. I’ve worked as a tour promoter, tour seller and tour translator. I currently lead my own virtual maritime tour agency that promotes and sells boat tours in Santa Marta, northern Colombia. And last, I'm a dance instructor (salsa and bachata). I offer these classes through an online platform and I manage this independently. On Upwork I've been hired as a freelancer for Dutch transcriptions, for evaluating data-entry and to voice record Dutch sentences. Kind regards, Natalie
