A macro cleans the monthly ledger, Power Query loads it, and one refresh button produces an income statement (actual vs budget, YTD, variance) and a balance sheet for all 52 departments. I’m now maintaining it as the new financial year’s data comes in. How I use AI, and why I never trust it blindly:- I use AI to speed up research and drafting, but I independently cross-check every AI-generated number in Excel before it reaches a client. This process has caught calculation errors AI made. I flag them to the client and correct them, so you get a model built on verified numbers, not unchecked output. I’m also happy to review AI-built models and find the errors in them.
