.NET Developer & Architect | C#, Azure, SQL, React
Many companies depend on a vendor for the software their business runs on, and at some point they want that control in their own hands. I help them get there by learning the system in depth, taking over its development, and leading it forward, whether that means improving what's there or replacing it step by step. That's how my current engagement started. In late 2024 a US retail business brought me in to speed up a few slow stored procedures in the credit application platform their stores use every day. The real problem was bigger. • Several services all shared one database. • There were no automated tests, so no change was safe. • Database changes were made by hand, so test and production drifted apart. • Much of the business logic was hidden in SQL Server stored procedures. I didn't rewrite it. Step by step, I turned it into a modular monolith, introduced database migrations and moved the logic into C#, added integration and end-to-end tests, and containerized it with Docker on Azure. Infrastructure cost dropped by more than $10,000 a month. Today I lead its architecture and development. Before that, I worked on 10+ year old enterprise browser management software, made up of Windows services, a desktop client, browser extensions, web apps and cloud licensing. There was little documentation and no previous developers to ask, so I got up to speed by documenting it myself. Then I built features like a risk analyzer that checks browser extensions before rollout and a policy management panel for multiple browsers. When I join a project, I start with the application and the business behind it, then the code, which I map quickly with AI. After that I talk to the people who use it. Once I know the goals, I need little direction. AI is part of how I build software. I work with AI agents in a spec-driven workflow, where I approve every spec before it's implemented and stay responsible for every line of code that gets merged. If your team wants to work the same way, I can help set it up. If your company relies on a system like the ones above, I'd be glad to hear about it. Miloš
