Rebecca K.

I work with authors and publishers, primarily in the romance and fantasy genres, to elevate the quality of their books through multiple stages of editing. I have years of experience editing romance and fantasy novels, including work with many tropes and sub-genres. I especially love editing queer romance, dark romance, and paranormal romance. We could be a great fit if you are: 1) A romance or fantasy author looking for an editor before you self-publish, or before submitting your manuscript to traditional publishers 2) A publisher who specializes in romance or fantasy novels looking for a consistent, reliable editor to help with plot development, developmental edits on first drafts, line editing, or copyediting/proofreading. I love romance and fantasy books, and I understand what makes a story great. I love playing “book doctor”—finding things that aren’t working in the story and giving solid, actionable feedback to fix it. And I understand the nitty gritty details of working with the English language to communicate a story to the reader. I follow the Chicago Manual of Style, while deferring to each author’s unique voice, and I make all edits in Word using Track Changes. Send me a message with your word count, genre, timeline, and the type of editing you’re looking for, and we can get started!
