Senior Embedded Firmware | BLE, Linux, Camera ISP

Senior embedded firmware engineer, 11+ years, leading a small team: two senior hardware partners (schematic and PCB layout, 10+ years each) and firmware engineers for well-defined tasks. Firmware, drivers and embedded Linux - C/C++ firmware on STM32, NXP i.MX RT1050 / RT1060 / RT1170, Renesas and Microchip: drivers, FreeRTOS / Zephyr / RT-Thread, bootloaders and MCUboot OTA, LVGL and Qt GUIs, Ethernet / USB / CAN / RS485. - Yocto BSPs for NXP i.MX 8M Plus, 8M Mini and 6ULL: meta-layers, kernel and camera drivers, device tree, U-Boot, DDR3 bring-up, release packages for product variants. BLE / LTE-M / Wi-Fi - Nordic nRF52840, nRF54L15, nRF9160 (nRF Connect SDK / Zephyr): HMAC-signed BLE extended advertising, MCUboot signed OTA, System OFF sleep, nPM1300 PMIC; LTE-M + GNSS tracker with A-GNSS and MQTT. - ESP32 / ESP32-C6: shipping product moved from ESP-IDF 3.2 to 5.5 - OTA from signed cloud URLs, runtime TLS certificate bundle, BluFi provisioning; 30+ production releases. - Also LoRaWAN, MQTT / TLS, AWS IoT, and biosignal wearables (STM32L412, TI ADS1294, nRF52). Camera / ISP - a rare specialty - 20+ image sensors brought up. Recent ones: Sony IMX900, IMX662, IMX462, IMX415, IMX335; onsemi AR0144, AR0135, AR0230, AR0234; OmniVision OX03J10, OS05A20; GalaxyCore GC2053, GC2093, GC1029B; PixelPlus PX9210K, PC4089K, PO3100K; ams Mira050. - On STM32 (ISP, NPU, Hantro H.264 / MJPEG), Cypress FX3 / CX3, NXP i.MX 8M Plus ISP and dedicated camera SoCs: MIPI CSI-2 / DVP drivers, ISP tuning (AE, AWB, CCM, WDR), UVC device and host. - Example: STM32 USB AI camera - the external RAM was running at half its rated clock; fixing it took 1080p H.264 from 7.5 to 15 fps. Two byte-order faults in the camera pipe fixed: detection confidence from 0.66 to 0.99. Hardware (with my partners) - Schematic design and review, 2-6 layer PCB layout, DFM / DFT, board bring-up and production test tools. Background: 4 years in hardware (schematic, board bring-up, board test), then firmware, RTOS, embedded Linux and custom cameras; the last 3 years leading firmware and RTOS development for a product team. How I work: - Root cause first: logs, scope / logic analyzer captures, register dumps, A/B builds. - New clients can start with a short fixed-price pilot - a design / firmware review or one focused task - before a larger engagement. - Clean commits, test notes and a short report your team can reuse. I review every change before it reaches you. Available about 25-30 h/week, weekends included. GMT+7. English and Japanese.
