Electronics Engineer

I’m an electronics and product development engineer specialising in taking hardware ideas from concept through to working prototypes and production-ready designs. My work spans the full product development stack, including schematic capture, PCB layout, embedded firmware, IoT system architecture, and enclosure design (3D CAD and printing). This means clients can work with a single engineer rather than coordinating multiple freelancers, although I have a team of engineers across various disciplines for additional resources if required. Before founding my own consultancy, ZTPrototypes, I worked as an electronics engineer across multiple IoT consultancies, a large product development firm, and a company specialising in environmental sensing devices. Since then, I’ve delivered projects across the industrial, consumer, and IoT sectors, often under tight timelines and evolving requirements. I also design with real-world constraints in mind, such as manufacturability, power consumption, enclosure integration, and regulatory considerations, rather than just getting something to work on the bench. I have experience taking multiple products through compliance tests at accredited test houses to ensure compliance with various global regions, including CE, UKCA and FCC marking.
