My name is Martin Ciarfaglia, I am an Industrial Engineer from the University of Buenos Aires, with a Master’s in Renewable Energies from École Polytechnique in Paris and a Diploma in Greenhouse Gas Measurement and Accounting. Over the past 7+ years, I have built a career in sustainability, working with companies, project developers and organizations to design and implement strategies that drive measurable environmental and social impact. I specialize in carbon markets (voluntary and regulated), having worked on projects involving Article 6.2 and 6.4 of the Paris Agreement, as well as the design and certification of carbon, biodiversity, and plastic credit projects. My experience spans REDD+, ARR, Biochar, renewable energy, and energy efficiency projects, using leading standards and various methodologies such as VERRA, Gold Standard, SocialCarbon, BioCarbon Registry, CERCARBONO and ICR. Beyond carbon markets, I help companies define and achieve their sustainability goals through a holistic approach. This includes not only crafting high-level strategies but also ensuring they are implementable and measurable. I provide expertise in data gap analysis, carbon, plastic, and water footprint measurement, physical and climate risk assessments, and sustainability reporting aligned with frameworks like GRI, IFRS, and CSRD. I also support compliance with evolving regulations such as the EUDR. In my seek of creating a more sustainable world, I have founded EcoGaia, a sustainable consulting company and my work is focused on building direct, results-driven partnerships with my clients. Whether it’s developing mitigation or compensation strategies, aligning with green certifications like B Corp or ISO, or designing project documentation for validation and certification, I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and practical insight to every project.
