Ersin O.
Medical Device Embedded Engineer - IoT,Wearables,Firmware,PCB Design
I am an Embedded Systems Engineer with 8+ years of experience developing medical devices, wearable systems, and connected embedded products. What differentiates my background is that I have worked across the full lifecycle of medical device development, not only on firmware or electronics in isolation. I have been involved from the early stages of requirement definition and system architecture through risk analysis, hardware design, PCB development, firmware, verification, production preparation, manufacturing support, and long-term product testing. In medical device development, technical decisions cannot be made independently. Hardware architecture, firmware behavior, sensor accuracy, fault handling, usability, risk controls, testability, traceability, manufacturing constraints, and regulatory requirements all affect each other. I am used to working with this discipline and evaluating a design as a complete system rather than as separate hardware and software tasks. I can design and review electronic hardware and PCBs, develop embedded firmware, integrate sensors and communication interfaces, and build the software around the device. This includes BLE- and Wi-Fi-connected mobile applications, desktop tools, engineering utilities, configuration software, diagnostic interfaces, and production/test applications. Because of this end-to-end experience, I can work on a device starting from a blank page and think beyond the first prototype: Requirements → Risk Analysis → System Architecture → Electronics & PCB → Firmware → Application Software → Verification → Production → Field Support I also have practical experience with medical device documentation and regulated development processes, including technical documentation, requirement traceability, risk management, verification and validation activities, design changes, manufacturing records, and development processes shaped by medical device regulations and standards. I have worked in environments where MDR/FDA expectations, design controls, technical files, risk management, and product lifecycle documentation are part of everyday engineering decisions. My approach is therefore not simply “make the device work,” but make it measurable, testable, traceable, manufacturable, and maintainable. Testing is another major part of my work. I have developed custom test software and test fixtures for prototypes, engineering validation, production, and long-duration testing. I automate endurance tests where devices need to operate for hours, days, or longer, collect operational and sensor data, detect abnormal behavior, generate logs, and analyze the resulting data to identify performance degradation, timing issues, thermal problems, communication failures, or rare fault conditions. During prototyping and production stages, I can also support hardware bring-up, debugging, calibration workflows, manufacturing tests, firmware programming, device configuration, traceability, and automated quality checks. My background includes embedded C/C++, real-time systems, BLE, Wi-Fi, sensors, analog and digital electronics, PCB design, embedded Linux, mobile development, desktop applications, and cloud-connected IoT systems. However, I see these as tools rather than separate specialties. The real value is knowing how to combine them into a reliable medical product. Having experienced projects from initial requirements and risk analysis all the way to production and field use, I can contribute not only as a firmware or PCB engineer, but as an engineer who understands how the entire product should work together. If you are developing a medical device, wearable system, connected diagnostic product, or another regulated embedded system, I can help from the first technical decisions through prototype, verification, and production.
