George Jr A.
GIS & Photogrammetry Specialist | Drone Data, QGIS, Python Automation
I find spatial data that isn't easy to find, and make it trustworthy. Most of my work starts the same way: someone needs a dataset and it isn't where it should be. Government portals with no download option, imagery-only services, undocumented APIs, drone capture that needs checking before anyone builds on it. That's the work I do. Seven years in GIS. Geology graduate. Currently processing drone survey data into 3D models for an Australian company, and sourcing property datasets from Australian council portals for real estate due diligence. WHAT I DO Drone & Photogrammetry - Processing aerial survey datasets into 3D models - Alignment and geometry checks, aerial triangulation - Mesh and orthomosaic QA — flagging gaps and defects before delivery - DEM, DSM/DTM, hillshade, contour and slope derivation - Bathymetry and XYZ survey data processing Hard-to-Source Spatial Data - Extraction from ArcGIS REST, WMS, tile servers and council portals - Rebuilding vector layers from imagery-only sources - CRS standardisation, boundary clipping, geometry validation - Documented provenance for every dataset delivered Real Estate & Land Development GIS - Parcel-level screening and site selection - Zoning, land-use and development constraint analysis - Assemblage and adjacency analysis - Flood, coastal hazard, heritage and planning constraint layers Field GIS & Mobile Data Collection - QField and offline mobile survey projects - Attribute forms, dropdowns, relationships, GPS and photo capture - GeoPackage database structuring - Field team training and data quality standards Remote Sensing & Environmental Monitoring - Land-use change detection, deforestation alerts - Forest, agriculture and conservation mapping - Google Earth Engine workflows Automation - Python: GeoPandas, Rasterio, GDAL, PyQGIS - Repeatable pipelines for extraction, cleaning and validation - Outputs prepared for databases and dashboards SELECTED WORK NYC Residential Assemblage Screening — rules-based analysis using zoning, land use, building class, unit count and parcel adjacency. Delivered 1,000+ candidate parcels with the filtering logic documented step by step. Australian Council Data Extraction — flood, drainage, stormwater, sewer and zoning layers across multiple councils, including rebuilding networks from councils that publish map images with no vector data. Norwegian Bathymetry Automation — raw XYZ survey data into DEMs, hillshades, contours and finished map sheets, built as a repeatable workflow. Carbon & Forest Monitoring — three years of weekly deforestation alert polygons used by field rangers, plus mobile data collection tools and dashboards. HOW I WORK Everything comes back documented: where the data came from, how it was processed, what its limits are. Where imagery or source data is genuinely ambiguous, I flag it for verification rather than guessing. Data nobody can trace is data nobody trusts. Timezone UTC+8, flexible hours. I already work with Australian, Norwegian and US clients.
