In recent years, most of my work has fallen into two categories: solving hard problems in other people's systems and reviewing code. - Expensify — a $4,000 bounty for a one-line change: the diff was one line; finding it was the work. 16 PRs merged, 100+ reviewed as a reviewer. One of those bugs was Safari's, not the app's — I fixed it in the engine itself, and it was merged upstream. - Neovim — my favorite editor. A PTY bug had been open since 2020; I traced the root cause to Windows' console layer, and the fix landed in Neovim. 21 of my patches are now part of its core. - PHP_CodeSniffer — investigated how existing sniffs handle PHP 8 attributes, documenting formatting gaps and potential conflicts between automatic fixes. Different layers, one habit: fix the root cause, not the symptoms. If a workaround is unavoidable, I'll explain the trade-offs and agree on it with you first — it won't quietly ship as a fix.
